Ostertag’s life is marked by a refusal to conform to popular notions of electronic music and what electronic musicians ought to do. His combination of musical strategizing and political acuity enabled by electronic tools is a distinctly contemporary form of artistry. In this address and workshop he takes on the totality of his music and examines its contemporary significance while analyzing the musical strategies he has used over the years.
