Canadian premiere of rare musical instruments
Tomorrow night (Saturday, May 3) the Music Gallery presents the Canadian premiere of the MSU Harry Partch Ensemble, a student ensemble from Montclair State University in New Jersey, led by composer, conductor, teacher, multi-instrumentalist and inventor Dean Drummond, who is also co-director of the Harry Partch Instrumentarium. Drummond maintains the collections of original instruments built by America's legendary "hobo composer" Partch, and this is the first time that many of these instruments have ever been in Canada! Needless to say, this is a unique and rare opportunity to hear works by Partch performed in the context in which they were intended: on the very instruments that Partch built in order to realize his groundbreaking micro-tonal tuning systems. more>

Happy New Website
Welcome to the new MusicGallery.org! It has been a long time coming. Thank you to our new friends at Twig Design for building our new home on the Internet. You may notice it is still a work-in-progress, and in the near future you will be able to purchase tickets and sign up as a member of the Music Gallery, right here at this very URL. Meanwhile, take a look around and check out our more user-friendly calendar function, multiple artist photos and brand-new audio jukebox. more>
