Vintage Railway got its start in the summer of 2008 with their very first appearance being on the stage of the Toronto Independent Music Awards. Since then, the group has gone through an incredible metamorphosis, resulting in the joining of three incredibly dynamic and unstoppable forces in the music industry today.
Andre Bell was born 1986 in Brecon, Wales and grew up traveling the world on a sailboat. In 2000 he moved to Canada in order to pursue a career in music and on the stage. With a vocal style reminiscent of music greats such as Elton John and Billy Joel, Andre's diverse range of music magically appealed to listeners of all ages. In early 2010 he finally found his place within Roots/Rock group, Vintage Railway. From irresistible upbeat melodies, to soulful heartfelt ballads, Andre's music and lyrics have a way of covering the entire spectrum of human emotion.
Toronto native, Ashley Alford, has been capturing audiences with her electrifying stage presence and star-like qualities since she was 15 years old. Originally on the path to a career in opera, the 27-year old artist has since lent her soulful, yet natural vocal range and technique to the world of Roots/Rock. Her single entitled "Beautiful Feeling", released as a solo artist in 2005, was the result of eight years of growing into a refined and experienced recording artist. Featuring Ashley's passionate vocals and enduring melody, it was acclaimed to be one of the best works since Dido first hit the music scene. It's release that summer across Canada saw it's sales ring in at a staggering 50,000 copies. She now looks very forward to the success that is to come with her new home along with the other members of Vintage Railway.
Lucas Hunter, also born and raised in Toronto, Lucas wrote his first song at the tender age of 11 years old, and since then he has written a library worth of material, recently paired down to his twelve best for his debut solo album entitled "ALL THE WARES" released in the spring of 2008. Clearly influenced by the likes of James Taylor, Jim Cuddy, Neil Young and even Bon Jovi, Lucas manages to effortlessly blend elements of roots, folk, blues, country and rock into a sound all his own. This award-winning up and coming singer/songwriter will have your hearts melting and your feet tapping as he translates his unstoppable energy onto the stage of his new home with Vintage Railway.
