Plumbing the depths at which human impulse and perception can be dealt with as physical phenomena, Diapason seeks to realize growth in the realm of time and space through the experience of sound, hence this presentation of an evening of Canadian New Music works and experiential sonic architecture. Ostensibly a quartet of pianos, violin, clarinet, and percussion, Diapason exists primarily as the executor of a composition by the same name. A series of improvisatory appetizers and contemporary aperitifs will precede the hour-long Diapason, a piece whose aim is to share the extended purity of a singular acoustic experience.
