The Penderecki String Quartet are joined by guests Duo Alterno (composer/pianist Riccardo Piacentini and soprano Tiziana Scandaletti) in a concert of contemporary music. Featured works include John Cage, A flower & The beautiful widow of 18 springs for voice and piano (1961-2); Riccardo Piacentini, For Four Part IV for string quartet (2000); Krzysztof Penderecki, String Quartet No.1 (1960); Ada Gentile La giornata di Betty Boop for voice and piano (2006); Ada Gentile, Quartetto III (2000) & Quartetto 1(1996); Andrzej Panufnik, Wycinanki String Quartet No.3 (1991); and Riccardo Piacentini, An Mozart for voice, string quartet, piano, "foto-suoni" (2008 Premiere).
