The Music Gallery presents:
Marcus Boon in Conversation with DJ/rupture
Concert: The Music Gallery, 197 John St.
Global bass theorist DJ/Rupture, organizer of the Julius Eastman Memorial Project, is one of the key figures of contemporary musical transculturalism. Head of the Dutty Artz music label, blogger at Negrophonic, and writer for such major publications as The Fader and the Washington Post, Rupture possesses a fascinating worldview which draws on cultural, technological and social impulses. Rupture will be interviewed by Marcus Boon (York University professor, author of In Praise Of Copying – Harvard U. Press) about his experiences of global musical interchange in pop and classical music.
